March 28th, 2018: When a simple act of random kindness turned into reality thanks to all my amazing friends. #ReadBelow#tbt ————————————————————————
On Feb. 22nd, I made a FB post asking friends to help me take 12 #underrepresented young #Queens and #Kings living in the Southwest Advocacy Group #SWAG neighborhood see #BlackPanther. ————————————————————————
I received an unprecedented amount of love and support from my #Facebook fam. ————————————————————————
Within 30 minutes, I received enough money on my #Venmo to take the 12 kids. I set my phone aside and within the next few hours, I had 3x the amount needed. ————————————————————————
You (my friends) just kept donating, I was so humbled and inspired that I challenged you all to keep donating money so I could pull all the stops for the kids.
With your #UnconditionalLove and realization that #RepresentationMatters, we raised about $1200!!!! ————————————————————————
With your help: • I bought out an entire theater for a #PrivateScreening@regalmovies that fit 60 people • And it was the nice theater with recliner seats! • Families got to experience the movie together! Invitations were extended not just to the kids, but also their #siblings#parents#grandparents • Everyone had a KidsPak (popcorn, drink, and fruit snack • We has 3 vans to transport everyone! (2 donated and 1 paid with money raised) ————————————————————————
Best part kids to this day are thanking me for taking them to see a movie where they saw themselves on screen being #brave#intelligent#resilient and #beautiful. But it wouldn’t have happened with my friends. I’m so blessed to have you all. Thank you again!
PS. I still have some money left. I will let you all know what I use it for.
