Appreciation post to myself, because people often fall short of having love for themselves. I’m so happy where I’m at mentally in my life. At this time 2 years ago, I was in a completely different place. I let negative thoughts control my mind and take over my life. I found myself fearful of where I was at with myself, what my future would look like, and what my death would be. Stress took over like nothing I’ve ever experienced before. For weeks I was in a constant state of anxiety and I could not understand why. I cried every single morning and night. Eventually I got to the point where I could no longer even experience my emotions and I felt nothing. I thought I was going crazy and knew I was falling into a dark place. I was making myself sick physically and mentally. Then I found meditation. Everyday for 10 minutes I forced myself to lay down, close my eyes, and relax. Those little minutes started making a huge impact. After my first yoga class I went home and cried because I had felt happiness again and forgotten what that felt like. I realized that I was not alone in the pain I felt. I spent weeks rewiring the way my mind worked, as well as removing the objects causing stress in my life. Every negative thought that entered my mind, I instantly stopped and though of how grateful I was. Positive thinking, nutrition, yoga, and meditation crated the person I’m today. If I never found those things I’m not sure where I would be mentally. Health is not just what you put into your body, but also the thoughts you think everyday, the products you use, and how you treat your body. Our thoughts are everything. If negative thoughts can bring us down so quickly, think what the power of positive thoughts can do. We have so much power in ourselves, it’s unbelievable. Three things I have learned.
